Indian Elephants
In July last year I finished my first Hellenistic elephant. I now have a pair using figures from the Donnington 'Originals' range:
This is part of a mini-project with two aims:
- Paint the figures leftover from my Later Macedonain project.
- Provide additional units to allow me to field a Phyrric army.
For the former I have enough for two more pike units so I can field "pike heavy" armies. For the latter I "only" (this is a wargamers only) need a few extra cavalry, some slingers, two elephants and lots of hoplites.
I've done the cavalry and now the elephants. The slingers are on the painting table. The only drawback with this project is the 24 hoplites that I have to paint. The figures themselves aren't a problem but the shields may take me while.
